The animal husbandry is more than 25% in the structure of gross agricultural output of the region.
One of the main strategies in ensuring food security of the region is the food industry. More than 160 food and processing enterprises of the region specializing in the production of meat, dairy, bakery, flour and cereals, confectionery, pasta, butter and fat, fish, fruits and vegetables, distilled beverages, wine, beer and soft drinks.
